Moldovan karate students won 10 medals in the Martial Arts Olympics

The tournament, held in St. Petersburg is considered one of the most prestigious. This year it was attended by the founders of Eastern martial arts: Koreans, Japanese and Chinese. The competition they tried to make the Europeans.

Moldova squad, composed of the Association of Okinawan Karate Goju-ryu, this year the first time participated in the Olympic martial arts. Luckily turned out to Debut: 15 men have won 2 gold, 4 silver and as many bronze medals. And in the discipline of "free fight" our team has established a record - Moldovan athletes spent 8 KOs out of 10 recorded at this Olympics.

- We had to fight not only with athletes, but also with the judges. That is, the judging was a little bit in one direction, so you had to clearly win, to win something, "said association president Okinawan Goju-Ryu karate-RM Victor Panasyuk.

Program Olympics "East-West" includes 27 types of competitions. On the mat in St. Pereburge launched more than 6 thousand karatekas from 30 countries worldwide.
